A piece of the heart of the first ever ‘millennial saint’ will tour Scottish churches days after he is canonised by the Pope this weekend. ‌

British-born Carlo Acutis, who was known as “God’s influencer”, died aged 15 in Italy in 2006 after a battle with leukaemia. ‌

But Catholics gathered in scores to get a glimpse of his preserved body in the ancient city Assisi earlier this year after the schoolboy was credited for two miracles approved by the Vatican. ‌

Now sacred ‘relics’, including a piece of the membrane that surrounded the teen’s heart, will tour churches in Paisley , Greenock and Edinburgh .
