The sale of the huge Midland House office block will net Plymouth City Council £755,000, it has been revealed. The authority decided to disclose how much it would receive from the sale of its former offices after speculation about the deal on social media.

The council said that had PlymouthLive asked about how much cash it had received it “could have provided this information”.

PlymouthLive asked if the building had been sold but not the price or who the purchaser was because this sort of information is not usually given out due to commercial confidentiality.
