ATLANTA — More than 1,000 former and current employees of the Department of Health and Human Services have signed a letter calling for the resignation of the agency's leader, HHS Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
A release put forth by a group, calling itself Save HHS, accuses HHS Sec. Kennedy of "compromising the health of this nation" and cites the recent firing of CDC Director Dr. Susan Monarez and the subsequent resignations of three other top officials in response to her termination.
It also highlights the appointment of several individuals, whom they assert have made inaccurate claims about vaccines, to influential CDC and HHS positions; and it criticizes the Food and Drug Administration recently revoking emergency use authorizations for the COVID-19 vaccine.
