The Region 3-3A high school football game that was set to be hosted by Jenkins High against Liberty County at Memorial Stadium Friday night, Sept. 5, has been moved to Liberty County High by the Savannah Chatham County Public School System due to "community safety concerns," Jenkins head coach Tony Welch said.

"We've had a few incidents here and at other schools in the district and we're just trying to err on the side of safety," Welch said. "It's tough because it takes away a home region game for us, but I told the kids at the end of the day, we can only control what we can control and safety issues always come first.."

Kickoff will remain at 7:30 p.m. for a game that was scheduled to be broadcast by WSAV and its Friday Night Blitz crew.
