LONDON — The Saint Joseph London Foundation, on behalf of Saint Joseph London, has received a $23,000 grant from WHAS Crusade for Children to help improve pediatric care within the emergency department, benefiting the youngest patients of Laurel County and surrounding communities.

The WHAS Crusade for Children grant will fund the purchase of a rapid infuser, which quickly delivers large volumes of warmed blood and fluids in emergency situations where rapid and severe blood loss occurs. Nearly 25 percent of trauma patients in the emergency department are under 18 years old. With this equipment, staff will be able to quickly respond and treat the most vulnerable pediatric patients, when the minutes matter most.
