For the third year in a row, the City of North Bay agreed to give Laurentian Ski Hill $100,000.

That is $300,000 within three years, but how the funds are being used remains unclear.

“I can’t tell the citizens anything about why we’re subsidizing the ski hill. I don’t want to put the ski hill in a bad light,” said Coun. Tanya Vrebosch.

“Year one, my back was up against the wall, we were told if you don’t approve this ($100,000), we’re going to end up shutting down the ski hill.”

She said then another request came the following year.

“And now we’re in year three. How many more years is this going to happen? And how many more years do I have to tell the citizens I can’t tell them anything?”
