The Las Cruces Fire Department is investigating a mobile home fire that resulted in one death on Aug. 29, 2025.

Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on the 3300 block of Conlee Lane just before 9 p.m. Firefighters found a fire with high heat and no visibility, but had the fire under control within 20 minutes, according to LCFD.

The fire was contained to one unit and the victim was removed and pronounced dead on the scene. LCFD did not identify the victim.

One firefighter sustained a minor burn to the hand.
