LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Lincoln Police is investigating a robbery and assault that happened along a trail Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery that happened around 7:55 p.m.

Witnesses told officers they had been with the 55-year-old male victim along the Salt Creek Levee Trail when three unknown men assaulted him and took his belongings, including a phone, cash and ID, for a total loss of $500.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the identities of those involved is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
