The city of Toledo is hoping to invest in itself and is preparing to appoint the board members who will help to do just that.

On Aug. 13, city officials debuted the revamped Toledo Community Improvement Corporation, which will guide the redevelopment of properties within the city limits.

It was established in 2014 to facilitate the redevelopment of the Textileather and MedCorp property, which is now the Stellantis vehicle customization facility.

Since then, the CIC has been primarily dormant, but a renewed and amended agreement with the city of Rossford for a joint economic development zone has spurred the corporation to life.
