U.S. Rep. LaMonica McIver is facing censure from her colleagues in the U.S. House of Representatives and possible committee removal after a Louisiana Republican formally introduced a resolution to do so this week.
McIver faces charges of “assaulting, resisting, impeding and interfering with federal officers” related to an incident at Delaney Hall in Newark in May. As a result, Rep. Clay Higgins introduced the resolution to censure McIver and remove her from the Homeland Security Committee, which oversees U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
