MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont’s lawsuit against tech giant Meta can proceed, according to a new ruling from the Vermont Supreme Court.
The Vermont Attorney General’s Office says Instagram, Facebook, and other apps owned by Meta negatively impact the mental health of young Vermonters.

Meta argued before the court in June that the state’s lawsuit should be tossed since it has no footprint in the state and that there’s no substantial connection between their claims and how Meta operates here.
But in a ruling Friday, the Vermont Supreme Court affirmed a lower court ruling denying Meta’s attempt to dismiss the case.
