BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The National Transportation Safety Board released their preliminary report this week into the investigation of a deadly plane crash in Bangor last month.
The report says a Cessna A185F, N714HE crashed on Aug. 22. at 1:21 p.m. while trying to land at the Bangor International Airport.
The pilot, who was the only one on board, died in the crash. The report say he was an Italian citizen.
The NTSB says the plane was being ferried from Europe to the United States. They say the final destination was Rutland, Vermont.
The report says the plane pilot left Goose Bay Airport in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, at 8:01 a.m., and flew to Bangor to clear customs.
The NTSB says as the plane approached, the pilot asked the control tower for a “wind check.” They say a controll
