BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Health insurance premiums for individual plans offered under the Affordable Care Act are set to jump an average of between 19% and 25% next year, according to new rates just published by the Alabama Department of Insurance (ALDOI).

According to ALDOI , individual premiums for Affordable Care Act plans offered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama are set to rise an average of 19.3%, individual plans offered by UnitedHealthcare Insurance are set to rise 20%, and individual plans offered by Celtic Insurance Company are set to jump 25%.

Oscar Insurance Company will begin offering individual plans under the Affordable Care Act in Alabama for the first time in 2026.
