Mizzou’s squad broke from its warmups, and as the huddle of dozens of players dispersed to their designated corners of the team’s practice fields, a new-look field goal unit emerged.
“Robby Meyer,” Missouri football head coach Eli Drinkwitz’s voice boomed over a speaker during the Tigers ' team practice Tuesday afternoon. “Number-88 (jersey) in our program, number-one on the depth chart.”
True now, but certainly not the case this time last week.
But, starting placekicker Blake Craig’s season is done. The Kansas City product tore his ACL in Mizzou’s season-opening game after landing awkwardly on his leg while attempting to tackle the Central Arkansas returner from his own kickoff.
