A police officer was dragged by a vehicle after pulling over a man wanted for a home burglary in Wolcott, police said.

The Wolcott Police Department said they responded to a home on Wolcott Road for a reported burglary last Monday.

A man, who was known to police for his alleged involvement in past incidents, was seen driving away from the scene, and he was pulled over.

The man refused to get out of the vehicle, hit the gas and a police officer was dragged a short distance, according to police. The officer sustained minor injuies.

A short time later, police spotted the man's vehicle pulling out of a driveway on Wolcott Road, but the man's girlfriend was driving the car and he wasn't inside.
