Sauce sold in Ontario recalled

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is alerting people to a recall of a Ghanaian sauce sold in Ontario.

What sauce is being recalled?

Stella’s Authentic brand is recalling its Shito product, sold in 250-mL and 500-mL sizes. Shito is a hot black pepper sauce/condiment.

The recalled products are from batch number STE-019 with a best before date of Dec. 31, 2025; and batch number STE-019 with a best before date of April 30, 2026.

The recall notice did not provide images of the recalled products.

Why was it recalled?

The recall is due to commercial sterility concerns, the CFIA notice said.

What should I do if I have the sauce?

“Do not use, sell, serve or distribute the affected products,” the recall said.
