GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) - The United States Department of Justice is suing an Upstate nursing home along with three others across the nation for neglect and failing to meet standards of care, officials say.
On Tuesday, the DOJ filed against ProMedica Health System, Inc., a nonprofit corporation in Toledo, Ohio. The complaint also named affiliates such as HCR ManorCare Inc., as well as four nursing homes located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, and Virginia.
The DOJ stated in the complaint that ProMedica, from 2018 to 2023, owned and controlled the four nursing homes, including Rehabilitation - Greenville East in South Carolina. The DOJ claims that, during that time period, the four homes failed to meet the required standards of care, and failed to develop or follow care plans for t
