Google's proposed data center on nearly 500 acres in Franklin Township looks to be in peril as enough Indianapolis City-County Council members now oppose the project to stop the tech giant in its tracks.

Since Aug. 20, 15 out of 25 councilors have said either publicly or in statements to IndyStar that they plan to reject Google's proposal. If all 15 of those councilors vote no at a Sept. 22 meeting where councilors are expected to consider a rezoning request for the project, the proposal will fail.
