The city of Tempe awarded more than $216,000 to 37 local arts nonprofits and local artists for 2025 and 2026.
More than $31,000 also will be distributed to teachers who apply for the Arts in Schools grant. This will connect teachers with public artists to give students hands on experience and further their arts education.
“Our investment in local artists and creatives helps contribute to the vibrant cultural community that we get to enjoy here in Tempe,” said Tempe Mayor Corey Woods in a statement.
Applicants went through a competitive review process from five independent community review panels that included representatives from Tempe Arts and Culture Commission, African American Advisory Committee, Mayor’s Youth Advisory Committee and Tempe Tourism. Tempe residents, arts educators and
