Baby animal enthusiasts rejoice, soon there will be new pups to see in the Nashville Zoo's nursery.
"Nashville Zoo is pleased to announce the arrival of two rarely seen aardwolf pups. The brother-sister pair are 14-weeks old and were born at the Safari Wild Animal Park and Preserve (SWAP&P) in Como, Mississippi," the zoo said in a news release Sept. 3.
The nocturnal long-legged, striped wolf pups — featuring fox-like ears and black snouts — will make their debut in the Zoo’s HCA Healthcare Veterinary Center on Sept. 5. A member of the hyena family, the aardwolf is native to southern and eastern Africa and lives in dry, open savannas and grasslands.
