MIDVALE — A quiet Sunday evening turned into a chaotic scene at the Springs Apartments in Midvale when a fugitive’s escape attempt quite literally came crashing down through a neighbor’s ceiling.

Around 6 p.m., residents said the commotion began as police arrived at the complex in pursuit of a separate fugitive. But when officers knocked on the door of Jeremy Jensen’s unit, things took an unexpected turn.

According to police, Jensen attempted to evade capture by climbing into the attic. What he didn’t anticipate was the fragile structure above him. Moments later, he fell through the ceiling of a neighboring apartment, startling the resident inside.

“I actually was standing right here when I heard a loud noise in that room,” said Peyton Grace, a neighbor who witnessed the chaos unfold.
