DEION Sanders has fired back at critics after his Colorado Buffaloes suffered defeat against Georgia Tech.

The 58-year-old's side failed to score at the death and fell to a 27-20 loss.

Speaking to ESPN , Sanders explained that it was not a question of poor time management, but rather, accuracy.

He said: "If we hit the darn plays, we wouldn't be asking these questions. We had the plays. We just didn't make it happen.

"Do you call a timeout there? No, you're right there. You don't call a timeout there. You've got to go. You're running tempo. I've got to do a better job."

Sanders has entered his third season in charge of the Buffaloes .
