OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - One of the women detained in an ICE raid at an Omaha meat processing plant has been released on bond.
Sabrina Carmona-Lorenzo’s bond that was originally granted was denied because of an automatic stay rule from ICE.
Almost 80 people were detained in the ICE raid at Glenn Valley Foods back in June .
Her defense team argued that because she has no prior convictions, is not a flight risk, and has ties to the community, she should be released.
A district court judge granted the defense’s request, and Carmona-Lorenzo will be reunited with her family today.
The immigration attorney said she is hoping to see similar results for other clients in the future.
