Belen High School student detained after weapon found

BELEN, N.M. —

Charges have been filed after a weapon was recovered at the Belen High School campus amid a law enforcement response.

The weapon recovery led to a student being detained on Wednesday Sept. 3, according to a high school administration letter to families.

Belen police said charges have been filed against the detained student.
