Gilbert continues to outperform many of its peers in key measures of safety, economic vitality and government efficiency, according to the town’s newly released fiscal year 2023-24 Benchmark Report .
The biennial document compares Gilbert to 41 other communities nationwide and 12 in the Valley, measuring performance across 24 functional areas.
The report paints a picture of a community that prides itself on providing high-quality services at low cost. With a population of 275,346 and a median household income of $115,179, Gilbert ranks first among the Arizona benchmark cities for household income and remains among the safest large communities in the country.
