FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — One high school band in Williamson County has a golden opportunity in the Golden State.
The Franklin High School band was invited to march in the Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena on New Year's Day, but they need help getting there. The last time the Franklin High School band marched in the iconic parade was 1996.
Band director Michael Holland said it's going to cost just shy of $1 million to get all members and equipment there, as well as to house them for the week. The band has already had multiple fundraisers that have helped chip away at the big price tag, but they still need more.
One of the ways they're fundraising is using the same method the band used in 1996 to pay for it: selling fruit. Holland said he knows it's a tall order, but he has no questi
