LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Several businesses are reported to be without power after a car hit a utility pole in Luzerne County on Wednesday.

According to the Pittston Township Fire Department, crews were called to a car that hit a utility pole with transformers mounted on it around 12:15 p.m. along Route 315 in Pittston Township. The transformers came down and caught fire.

Fire crews had to wait for PPL crews to turn off the power before extinguishing the fire on the transformers. While they waited, the fire spread and burned the car.

There were no reported injuries, and there is no word on the cause of the accident.

The Knight's Inn and several businesses around the area are reported to have lost power due to the accident.
