LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 25-year-old man was arrested after fondling a 12-year-old girl in broad daylight, according to Lincoln Police.

Officers arrested Gavin Neverve, of Lincoln, at his home early Wednesday morning. He is charged with one count of third-degree sexual assault of a child.

A 12-year-old girl was walking home from the grocery store in the area of South 34th Street and Plantation Drive around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. She spotted a man nearby, later identified as Neverve, get off his bike and walk towards her.

Neverve reportedly asked the girl for her name and age, but she ignored him. He then came up behind her to “caress” her hair before moving his hands down the girl’s body, according to an arrest affidavit.
