CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) -- Police and Animal Charity of Ohio responded to a house with nearly 20 dead animals on Wednesday.
Agents found 18 dead cats and one dead dog when they opened the door at a home on Hilltop Drive.
Agents said that the animals had been dead for some time. The home was recently purchased at auction.
The house was full of trash and could be smelled from the street.
Jane MacMurchy, a humane agent with the Animal Charity of Ohio, said it's the most dead animals the agency has ever dealt with in a single case.
