Abdul Aleem Farooqi died “a hero” while defending his family.
That’s how Naeem Farooqi will remember his 46-year-old brother who was gunned down senselessly during a home invasion in Vaughan early Sunday.
“Three cowards came in and changed everything for our family that night,” Naeem said at a news conference Wednesday. “It’s a very tragic loss.”
Abdul Aleem was asleep in his home near Andreeta Dr. and Barons St. when three bandits – at least one armed with a gun – forced their way inside through a back door just before 1 a.m.
The owner of a furnace and duct cleaning business in Mississauga confronted the home invaders in an effort to protect his wife, son and two daughters.
An employee at Abdul Aleem’s business previously told the that “he was shot while trying to protect his four-ye
