A memorial service will be held this Sunday for Rev. Leo Richard ‘Dick’ Fletcher, a Second World War veteran and the longtime padre to the Kelowna branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
The service will begin at 2 p.m. at Cathedral church of St. Michael and All Angels at the corner of Richter Street and Sutherland Avenue. He died on May 31, age 99.
Fletcher was the last Second World War veteran on the membership list of the Kelowna Legion, club president Jim White said Tuesday. Along with White, Fletcher attended a Remembrance Day service held last November at Dr. Knox Middle School.
