PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police have identified and arrested a teenage suspect in a shooting that left a man dead in downtown Phoenix last month .
Officers responded to the shooting at 7th Street and Buckeye Road around 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 21, where they found 45-year-old Porfirio Medina seriously injured with at least one gunshot wound.
Medina was transported to a hospital, where he later died. Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner has classified his cause of death as a homicide.
Phoenix police confirmed on Wednesday that a 16-year-old boy has since been taken into custody. It’s unclear if Medina knew the suspect, and Arizona’s Family is working to gather additional information.
