BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - In a $59.4 million investment, SNT Energy, a South Korean-based manufacturing company, has decided to plant roots in West Baton Rouge. It will occupy the former Trinity Marine Products facility, which has been vacant since 2015. Anna Johnson, the executive director of the West Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce, is one of a few people who know all the details about SNT coming to the outskirts of Brusly.
“This will be our first big manufacturing facility in West Baton Rouge,” Johnson says. “They will be utilizing the existing building, which is about 150 thousand square feet. And then over the span of about 5 years, they want to increase that to about 233 thousand square feet, so their footprint will be very large.”
