The announcement that the U.S. Space Command headquarters will move from Colorado to Huntsville has sparked reactions from local leaders. Over the next five years, 1,400 direct jobs are expected to be filled at Redstone Arsenal's Space Command headquarters.

Martin Traylor, Redstone Arsenal’s deputy to the garrison commander, explained that the execution of this project will occur in phases. He emphasized that while not everyone will arrive at once, the arsenal is ready to handle the initial phases.

“There’s a temporary site that will be built in the period of 18-24 months inside the secure area of the EUL on Redstone Arsenal if you’re familiar with the gate nine area,” Traylor said.
