Just a week after the Cadillac F1 team announced its bombshell 2026 driver lineup, comprising Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas, the team has now announced IndyCar driver Colton Herta as a test driver for the 2026 season .

The sport's eleventh team, which officially received approval to enter the premier class early this year, has been gearing up for its debut season, which coincides with the onset of a new era of regulations. Cadillac F1 announced its driver lineup last week and suggested that it preferred F1 experience over fresh talent.

Now though, the team has signed Herta, who drives for Andretti in IndyCar, a team owned by the same TWG Motorsports group that owns Cadillac F1 in partnership with General Motors.
