Summer tour season wraps with 43,000 meals for those in need in U.S., England, European Union

Like a lot of good ideas, the beauty in Musically Fed is in its simplicity.

Founded almost 10 years ago, the Phoenix-based nonprofit asked the right question: When a big-time event, be it a music concert or a sports game, are in town, what happens to all the food from the venue that was prepared but, for whatever reason, wasn’t touched at the end of the night?

The sheer numbers in the answers were staggering.

The longtime Valley resident, who had spent years in the marketing and management side of the music industry, was inspired to take up a cause after the loss of her Vietnam veteran husband who died from the effects of Agent Orange after the war.
