BILLINGS, Mont. – Billings Logan International Airport is requesting more than $2.4 million from the city for the purchase of two new Aircraft Rescue Fire-Fighting (ARFF) trucks. These trucks are essential for responding to emergencies such as plane crashes and malfunctions.
Currently, the airport operates with two 1,500-gallon ARFF trucks, which have been in use since 2007. The trucks are now 18 years old, surpassing the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) recommended lifespan of 15 years for such vehicles. To comply with FAA regulations, the airport needs to replace its aging equipment.
