New details were released concerning an RV crash and fire which closed lanes on Interstate 20 in Moody for hours.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said the single-vehicle wreck happened at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 1 near mile marker 147 in St. Clair County.

State Troopers said a 2015 McIntosh Entegra Coach Anthem recreational vehicle left the road, struck a guardrail, and caught fire.

The Fairfield, Texas, driver was able to escape the RV and was not hurt, said authorities.

The wreck and fire caused all eastbound and westbound lanes on I-20 to be closed for most of the evening.

ALEA said all lanes were reopened about 11 p.m. Monday.
