CORTLAND, Ohio (WKBN) -- Residents in Cortland are frustrated and now pushing for a petition for Mayor Deidre Petrosky to step down.

It comes on the heels of a heated council meeting last month, centered around an emergency ordinance to allow the mayor to enter into an agreement for assistance regarding a recently purchased building -- a proposal council shot down during a meeting that Petrosky did not attend.

At a meeting Wednesday, residents were frustrated with what they call waste and misuse of city funds, but the mayor says that's not true, firing back and saying many of the claims made about her are untrue.
