Skies are partly to mostly sunny through much of the day Thursday, but you'll probably notice the blustery winds, sustained out of the south at 10-20 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

This wind is ahead of a cold front that will work through the region, reaching the Champlain Valley around dinner time.

At least initially, the front may come with some stronger storms, with gusty winds and torrential rain, shower chances continue on radar through through early Friday prior to daybreak.

Rainfall totals with this first batch of showers will range from 0.5-1.0", very beneficial to our current drought situation.

While we dry up for Friday, more rain chances arrive with another cold front for Saturday!

Have a great night!
