This was Game 1 of the Frontier League's best-of-3 wild card series, leaving the ValleyCats just one win away from advancing onto the next round.

Wilford was near-spotless for the 'Cats, as he yielded just three hits and one run, with one walk and one strikeout, during his 89-pitch outing. Jalon Long and Liu Fuenmayor each tossed a shutout frame coming out of the bullpen, sealing the win as the ValleyCats had scored all five of their runs, unanswered, from the fifth inning and beyond.
