JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ark. – The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said a jailer at a county detention center is facing a sexual assault charge.

JCSO officials said detention deputy Keywand Harris was arrested following an investigation stemming from information about an alleged romantic relationship between a jailer at “Dub” Brassell Detention Center and a female detainee.

According to JCSO officials, investigators determined that Harris had been spending extended periods of time in the female housing unit, adding that the investigation further found that Harris engaged in inappropriate physical contact with a female detainee.

Authorities added that Harris admitted to having a sexual relationship with the detainee before her arrest and kept contact with her while she was in custody.
