DALLAS, Pa. — The rides are whirling, the chainsaws are buzzing, and the oil is sizzling at the Luzerne County Fair. The smell of fan-favorite fair foods is filling the grounds, and one stand has been a tradition for decades.

“We have homemade halushki, homemade chicken noodle soup, and our potato pancakes are our big sellers ,” said Becky Brandenburg, Lake Lehman Band Sponsor President.

The Lake Lehman Band stand isn’t just about tasty food—every bite helps students hit the right note.

“I have three kids in the band program. And for me, the arts are really near and dear to my heart. I play several instruments. It’s just something that you don’t see being supported in every school, and I think it’s very, very important,” Brandenburg added.
