ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) - An Anderson County Commissioner wants to make an intersection near Clinton safer for drivers.
This comes after hearing concerns from folks who live nearby.
“It’s a tough intersection that needs to be looked at,” said Jay Stewart, an Anderson County resident.
Stewart has lived off of this intersection for years.
“There’s always an accident around here at this intersection,” he said.
The intersection is located at Sinking Springs Road, also called North Charles G. Seivers Boulevard, and Highway 61. Stewart said it’s a busy road.
“At the 55 mile an hour speed zone trying to cross four lanes with lanes turning and everything going on here,” he said. “It’s a very dangerous intersection.”
He said he’s seen many crashes almost weekly.
