NEW ORLEANS — President Donald Trump suggested Wednesday that New Orleans could be next in line for National Guard troops.

The idea is already sparking comparisons to Washington, D.C., where federal law enforcement and the Guard have been patrolling the city since last month.

Our sister station WUSA9’s Chief Investigative Reporter Eric Flack has been covering the deployment in the nation’s capital. He says the Guard’s role there has mostly been about visibility, while federal agents, such as the FBI, DEA, and Homeland Security, have been far more active.
