POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Brian Epperson was arraigned via Zoom in Powell County for the murder of Kristen Morris, 32.

“So I will appoint the public defender’s office to defend you. Honorable Josh Miller and I will enter a plea of not guilty,” Judge Lisa Hayden Whisman, Chief Circuit Judge, 39th Judicial Circuit, said.

Epperson is in the Clark County Detention Center after being arrested for possession of meth in connection to Reachel Dawson’s Clark County death.

Kaylieb Thompson, the longtime boyfriend of Reachel Dawson, made the drive from Estill County to be in the courtroom for Brian Epperson’s arraignment.

“I haven’t talked to her in 68 days, I haven’t seen her smile, nothing but he’s still alive. He’s still breathing and in jail and in protective custody,” Thompson said.
