ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office brought together churches and local businesses for a safety training designed to prepare people before a crisis ever happens.
Sheriff Leroy Ravenell said the training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen relationships with the community.
“Tonight was a good crowd, and you know, like I always tell people the program that we have know us before you need us and tonight is the time that you know we could share some information with the with the churches and businesses,” Ravenell said.
Wednesday night’s session took place inside the conference room at the Orangeburg Library. It was open to anyone representing a church or business, and deputies said turnout was strong.
