YORK, S.C. (WBTV) - South Carolina public schools will get more security now after the state’s governor secured funds for school resource officers in every school across the state.
South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster recently secured $29.4 million to fund more full-time School Resource Officers for all schools across the state that don’t already have them.
“This achievement makes South Carolina a national leader in school safety and provides us all peace of mind knowing our schools are protected,” said Gov. McMaster.
Every campus in York School District 1 has a school resource officer, and soon more districts across the state will be able to make the same claim.
