ST. LOUIS – Videos are popping up online recently of coyote sightings across the St. Louis area, including one early Tuesday morning in south St. Louis.

Wildlife officials say the sightings may become more common as we enter the fall season and temperatures drop.

The Wildlife Rescue Center tells FOX 2 fall is a time when young coyotes break off and start looking for territory of their own.

They explained that winter is the mating season for coyotes, and by the fall many of those young coyotes are ready to venture off on their own.

The Department of Conservation says coyotes can be found across the St. Louis region, including in the city in places like Forest Park and Tower Grove Park. They say the easiest way to keep coyotes away from your home is to avoid keeping food outside, and to
