Ellen Marie (Gilmore) “Sis” Quigley, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the home of her daughter. She was born on August 20, 1931, in Moundsville, WV, to Marion L. and Pearl (Welling) Gilmore.

Ellen married Donald Rex Quigley on March 21, 1948. They were married for 71 years before his passing in 2019.

Ellen loved to sew–especially making dresses for her daughters. Her hands were rarely still. She also loved to cook. Some of her family’s favorite dishes were her apple dumplings, cinnamon rolls, and homemade chocolate cake with caramel icing. Her meatloaf, macaroni salad, and noodles were also staples at the family table.Our mom was a strong and determined woman. She was always busy and could run circles around her kids.
